Let's hunt!

It's a winter morning
in the hunting lands of
Savoys' Kingdom.
Every morning in the Savoys' land,
Mr. Babbage wakes up.
It knows it must outrun
the fastest hunter or it will be killed.

Every morning in the Savoys' land,
a hunter wakes up.
He knows he must run faster than
the slowest Mr. Babbage,
or he will starve.

It doesn't matter whether you're
the hunter or Mr. Babbage.
When the sun comes up,
you'd better be running.

Man meets dog

"Man meets dog" by Konrad Lorenz made my day. I observe Beau hypnotized by raindrops falling down and I am not sure he just wants to play with rain. It seems that my little boy is patrolling.

"Woof! Woof!". I got it! For sure he wants to warn mummy that a huge waterfall could hurt her. His ancestors, golden jackals, have probably written it in his genes. Beau's fear should sound like an alarm, as jackals' yelps used to be perceived by stone age men.
In a world full of dangers it should have been love at first sight and a win-win deal: leftovers for jackals, an efficient alarm for men.

If my big boy watches my back, I can go pick up mushrooms. In case dinosaurs or wicked men would come, he will let me know.

Too bad that I haven't a gun or a spear. This boy seems to know something about hunting... and he'd better be good at it, or what should I do with a dog that is not good for grabbing food?! This is the sad rule of nature.

Any duck?

You must be kidding me! Go and grab some real food, big boy, or I'll send you back to the forest!

Let's swim!

What do you expect from your puppy of Golden Retriever
when you take him to the seaside?
That he dives into water
as soon as he sees the beach, right?!
And if it doesn't happen?

...and if friends seem to be
more interesting and exciting
than you?!

...and denies him to focus on the real goal, which is swimming, and prove that he is not a too bad Golden Retriever?!

...and if even socializing with "nasty humans" seems a better option?
Does it mean that this puppy with a Golden Retriever furs is just the devil in person?!

Don't panic, be patient!
Flowers need time to blooom..

Until finally it happens!!!!

Let's get brave!

There’s nothing worse than fears to deny a puppy
to become a good boy. The dog trainer calls Beau “the
civic number bully” because as soon as he goes out
from home, he’s afraid of everything. When a human being
approaches him, he barks like a crazy. Wuf! Wuf!
Dogs are not very different from us. To
let fears down, we have to push self-confidence up.
“You thought to be on holiday? Wrong! There are homeworks to do!!”. Two plastic glasses, some cookies and a game of mental activation will give a thrill to those few neurons, which can’t do anything but bark.

The beach Beau

Summer 2011. Camping "Le Marze". Marina di Grosseto (GR). Tuscany. Italy.

Useless that you look me like this! Now we go to the beach. You have to socialize with dogs&humans and have to swimm. You are a Golden Retriever, my little boy, don’t forget!”

"Shall I really come? It's so hot!", he seems to say. Never seem such a lazy dog.

...mmm...that blue thing with white foam seems a bit harmful.

"You will never catch me, stupid foam!".

Ok. It seems that with Beau I have to be smarter and more seducing. This place can’t be too bad if there is a ball to play with, right?!...

...and if there are sexy ladies to play kung fu with...

...or if you can meet loyal puppies to be friend with...

...and cool old guys that would teach you how to be a good Retriever...

My little puppy comes to me from the waves like the Lone Ranger after he has killed all the bad guys...
...and I say to myself:”I am the coolest mummy on the Earth!!”

“Joy, my dear friend, if only you were at the beach today!!! I was so cool! I have played, swum and I am a good Retriever, now. I love this camping!”.

…and I don’t hate humans too much, anymore... They are f*****g everywhere!”

Sleep well, my good boy, that tomorrow there’s so much more to learn.
